Druski Announces A Show

1 min read

Druski (Drew Desbordes) recently announced that he’ll be premiering a new show on his YouTube channel called Coulda Been House. Coulda Been House is an extension of his series called Coulda Been Records he started on Instagram live, before also doing it on YouTube as a traveling audition series. In this move to do a show, some business lessons can be garnered from Druski.

  • Relationships matter.
  • If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
  • Keep the main thing the main thing.

Relationships Matter

We’ve watched Druski grow his audience and in the process, he’s racked up a slew of celebrity friends. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Stories about him going on tour at the beginning of Jack Harlow’s career undoubtedly led to him being able to go on tour with J. Cole years later. Appearing in music videos and seemingly always being consistently himself has led to a level of authenticity that connects with both fans and celebrities alike.

If It’s Not Broken, Don’t Fix It

Druski watched the success of his Instagram live shows. These shows had a mix of improv and sketch comedy. Users would randomly be put on live with him and they’d audition for the fictitious Coulda Been records. From everyday people to celebrities, he has been consistently able to put on a show. Post-pandemic, not many people have been able to get over 100k people to watch Instagram live, but he has. He watched the success of this and started a tour that went around America holding live auditions for a still fictitious record label. Now, he’s doing a Coulda Been House, which he self-funded, and will feature some of the personalities he’s amassed along the way. If it works, keep going. He followed that mantra well.

Keep The Main Thing The Main Thing

Through it all, Druski hasn’t lost focus on what got him to this point. The comedy. He still finds time to post his skits on Instagram. This is important because that’s where he started initially, and even through all of the endorsements, success, and notoriety, still takes time to post in the place that saw his fame grow tremendously.
