J Cole

J. Cole has been on an insane feature run in 2023. He has proven to some, what his true fans have believed for some time, that he is one of the greatest rappers alive. He has shown his pen is powerful, and in an interview with Lil Yachty expressed that this feature run and openness to collaboration have been a lyrical exercise. J. Cole said that after 2014 Forrest Hills Drive, he lost some motivation and had to find it. It’s safe to say he’s found the hunger. We listened to some of his features from this year and picked out some of our favorite bars. Check them out below.

  1. All My Life Lil Durk feat. J. Cole

A reminder to humble yourself
This shit could be gone in an instant
Me, I’m runnin’ long distance, all pistons firin’
I been stuck between maybe retirin’
And feelin’ like I’m just not hittin’ my prime
These days seein’ rappers be dyin’
Way before they even gettin’ they shine

2. To Summer, From Cole Summer Walker feat. J. Cole

A reminder to humble yourself
This shit could be gone in an instant
Me, I’m runnin’ long distance, all pistons firin’
I been stuck between maybe retirin’
And feelin’ like I’m just not hittin’ my prime
These days seein’ rappers be dyin’
Way before they even gettin’ they shine

3. The Secret Recipe Lil Yachty feat. J. Cole

My greatest flex is that I made a milli’, feel like I’m Bangladesh
I hate the press, refusin’ interviews whenever they request
Niggas fake-progressive and woke, I started sayin’ less
I had to stop it, peeped how they profit off of racial stress
Some activists got so rich, they prolly wish we stay oppressed

4. First Person Shooter Drake feat. J. Cole

Love when they argue the hardest MC
Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?
We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali
Huh, yeah, yeah, huh-huh, yeah, Muhammad Ali
The one that they call when they shit ain’t connectin’ no more, feel like I got a job in IT

5. Let Me Calm Down Nicki Minaj feat. J. Cole

Her life was trauma filled, it left her with a tainted heart
Yet you the nigga that she wanna tat her name across
But you need patience and a lot of extra faith from God
To keep the family together at a time when it’s so regular to break apart
